POETRY FOR THE COMMUTER (SILVERCUP) is a painting that was inspired by a heavy snow fall that nearly obscures the Silvercup sign , softening the edges and hiding the Long Island City-scape. The sign becomes a beacon, greeting those brave enough to cross the bridge on a dark, snowy night, offering a Silver Cup to the intrepid traveler.
